Yep they did here are a few you may not have realised were Scottish.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">John Logie Baird :<\/span> Engineer and Inventor of that little box you sit and watch night after night (Television) <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Alexander-Graham-Bell<\/span> : Inventor of the most important thing we have to keep in touch other than our pc of course (The Telephone)<\/strong><\/span>8<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Robert The Bruce<\/span> : Crowned King of Scotland in 1306 he defeated the English king Edward II at Bannockburn in 1314 . He is supposed to have been encouraged towards perseverance and eventual victory by watching a spider build a web in a cave that he was hiding !<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Robert Burns :<\/span> Known to scots as Rabbie Burns famous scots poet and writer. He wrote &#8220;Auld Lang Syne&#8221; which is now sung worldwide at the end of functions and particularly at the end of the year. The Scots celebrate &#8220;Burns Night&#8221; on 25th January where a feast is prepared of &#8220;Tatties , Neeps, and Haggis&#8221; . To those of you who dont know thats potatoes, turnip and haggis and those of you who dont know what haggis is made from probably dont want to know \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Billy Connelly :<\/span> Famous Scots comedien known as &#8220;The big Yin&#8221; He is Glasgow born and married to comedienne Pamela Stevenson.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sean Connery<\/span> : Loved by lots as he played the famous James Bond born and brough up in Edinburgh also a very keen golfer loves to play the famous St Andrews golf course.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kenny Dalgleish<\/span> : One of Scotlands most succesful football players, he came from Glasgow and joined Jock Steins Celtic team in 1967 moving to English team &#8220;Liverpool in 1977.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">James VI :<\/span> Son of the catholic Mary Queen of Scots , who had been brought up a presbyterian. In 1603 on the death of Queen Elizabeth I, he acceded to the English throne as James I but his &#8220;Union of the Crows&#8221; resulted in him being the King of both countries, the countries remained seperate fro another 104 years.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jackie Stewart<\/span> : Racing car driver who won the world championship 3 times , turned olympic clay pigeon shooter .In 1977 along with his son he launched his own formula one racing team. He was born in Dumbarton.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">William Wallace<\/span> : Outlaw and defender of Scottish independence. Defeated the army of Edward I at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. Shortly after Wallace&#8217;s execution Robert the Bruce was able to re-establish Scotlands independence.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>There are lots more I wouldnt have the space to tell you them all and probably cant remeber the history of them all anyway but<\/strong><\/span><strong> <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>those are a few of them anyway.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know some very famous people come from Scotland?
